Thelema Chardonnay 2023

91 Points - Decanter World Wine Awards. Thelema consistently produce wines of stunning quality and value and this Chardonnay is no exception. 10 months in French oak barrels have given this wine a complex profile of ripe fruit, toasty oak with a lovely texture.

Wine Press Ratings

91 Points - Decanter World Wine Awards (2023 Vintage)

"Orange blossom, almond paste and bees wax notes lead into a elegant palate with floral nuance and chalky grip elevated by tangy acidity."

Taste

Fermented and matured in French oak barrels, this medium bodied Chardonnay presents aromas of citrus and hints of peach on the nose with nuttiness on the mid-palate. It is fresh with an underlying minerality but balanced by a long creamy finish.

About the Producer

Situated on the South Easterly side of the Simonsberg Mountain with elevations 530m above sea level with mainly south-facing slopes, possessing some of the highest elevations in Stellenbosch. The high altitude and the rich red soils are ideal for premium quality wine grape production.

Through the understanding of our optimal climate and soil type, Thelema have firmly entrenched themselves as one of the leaders in Cabernet Sauvignon, placing Stellenbosch Cabernet’s firmly on the global wine map.

Thelema believe grape quality is the single most important factor in serious winemaking, and their policy is one of minimum interference, allowing the wines to be a true expression of each vineyard.
