Lauverjat Moulin des Vrilleres Sancerre Rose 2023
The Moulin des Vrilleres Sancerre RosĂ© is produced from 100% Pinot Noir grown on fine limestone and clay soils. The limestone imparts a wonderful minerality while the clay adds depth to the finished wine. Itâs produced using the saignĂ©e method whereby the skins âbleedâ a little colour into the wine over a period of around 12 hours. Fermentation temperatures are kept low to protect the delicate aromas, and it's bottled in the spring to capture its vibrancy.
Taste
Beautiful smoked salmon pink, the bouquet offers a wonderful combination of flowers and fruits. Cherry blossoms, red cherries, plums, and strawberries mingle with citrus and savoury, dusty tones. In the mouth, itâs wonderfully elegant, yet fun. Red berries, rhubarb, and raspberries overlay a dry, minerally body. A lovely example of Sancerre rosĂ©, itâs perfect for white meats, pink fish, or green salads with creamy cheese.
About the Producer
From their domaine in Sury-en-Vaux, a charming village just outside Sancerre, Karine, Christian and Kevin, craft exceptional quality Sancerre. They produce all three styles of Sancerre â white, red, and rosĂ© â the rosĂ© being made exclusively from high-quality Pinot Noir from old vines. Their wines are traditional in style, though they have embraced modern winemaking techniques to realise their vineyards' exceptional potential.
