Pahlmeyer Jayson Sauvignon Blanc 2022
94 Points - Wine Enthusiast. A Sauvignon Blanc of real precision and poise, balancing bright citrus energy with layered texture. Fruit from Napa’s valley floor and mountain vineyards brings both tension and depth — notes of lemon zest, thyme and white peach glide into a mineral finish with a gentle grip. Lees stirring adds subtle richness without dulling its vivid freshness. Focused, complex and alive with detail.

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast (2022 Vintage)
"Focused and concentrated, this eye-opening wine is bright in acidity and fresh in citrus, thyme and parsley flavors. A mineral quality emerges on the sip and leaves a touch of tannin for an extra-appetizing middle and finish."
Winemakers Tasting Notes
"My intention with Jayson Sauvignon Blanc is to make a wine that is incredibly bright and energetic with a beautiful purity of fruit bolstered by a broad, textural midpalate. In the vineyard, I manage the canopy to encourage early ripening with acidity retention. I’m blending acid-driven valley floor fruit with intense, ripe fruit from our mountain vineyards that’s given longer hang time to fully evolve, a range of ripeness bringing nuance and detail. Lees are stirred just enough to impart a balancing richness while retaining freshness. The finished wine is a complete package of energy and crispness, complexity and depth."
About the Producer
Pahlmeyer has gone from being one man’s dream to being one of the finest producers of Bordeaux Red style in Napa Valley. Founder Jayson Pahlmeyer started with a shoebox of smuggled Bordeaux vine cuttings and a mission to create a ‘California Mouton - a rich, powerful Napa Valley Bordeaux blend, a wine that would drop wine lovers to their knees’. Taste the Pahlmeyer Jayson Red Blend and you’d have to say mission accomplished. The establishment of his own vineyard in the late 1990s in Atlas Peak in eastern Napa Valley from where the fruit for the Jayson comes, was a game-changer. Desolate, poor and free draining it’s proved a ‘paradisal’ location for vines and has allowed Pahlmeyer to take its place amongst the world’s greatest red blends.
