Chateau Lamothe-Bergeron Nove Haut-Medoc 2016

93/94 Points - James Suckling. From one of the Haut-Médoc’s standout estates, this 2016 release of Lamothe-Bergeron’s “Nove” shows just how good modern Bordeaux can be. Ripe blackcurrant and plum flavours are wrapped in smooth tannins, with a touch of cedar and graphite for that unmistakable Left Bank character. It’s refined but generous, drinking beautifully now and still full of life for a few more years in the cellar. A great example of why 2016 is such a beloved vintage.

Vivino Rating: 4.0 (Oct 2025)

Wine Press Ratings

93/94 Points - James Suckling (2016 Vintage)

"A special cuvee from here that shows class and finesse with a long, linear structure, magnificent depth of fruit and a polished finish. Very elegant wine."

Blend: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot & 10% Petit Verdot

About the Producer

Château Lamothe-Bergeron is a rising star of the Haut-Médoc, tucked between Margaux and Saint-Julien. With gravel soils and a focus on Cabernet and Merlot, the wines strike a fine balance between classical structure and modern charm. Under the guidance of top consultants and with a stylishly restored château, it’s a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur that consistently punches above its weight.
