SpaceNine A23 Pinot Noir NV
Bronze Medal Winner - IWSC. The SpaceNine A23 Pinot Noir shatters the myth that you can't get great Pinot Noir that offers great value for money. Rated 4.0 on Vivino, it's a soft, rounded style of Pinot that gives plenty of fresh red berry fruit with cherries, cream, and spicy vanilla to the finish.

'The Spacenine A23 Pinot Noir isn’t produced by the side of the Brighton Road as the name might suggest, but in France’s Languedoc. Some will tell you that great value French Pinot Noir doesn’t exist. Twenty years ago, I’d have agreed, but better site and clone selection combined with infinitely better winemaking have given us crackers like this. Mid-red, the bouquet offers red berries, cherries and a touch of raw beetroot. The medium-bodied palate is lively with lots of raspberries, strawberries, red cherries and a hit of minty spice to the finish. Try this with barbecued red meats or hot-smoked salmon.'

About SpaceNine
The husband-and-wife team behind A23’s wines, Thomas and Gunhild, have a unique approach to winemaking. Above all else, they aim to produce wines that capture the essence of the grape they are using. While many winemakers are all about terroir and a taste of place, for Thomas and Gunhild, the grape’s the star. Taking this approach with Pinot Noir makes a lot of sense. Pinot’s innate complexity and style mean it needs no augmentation or assistance. The A23 Pinot Noir is full of fresh strawberry, cherry, and blueberry fruit with a touch of beetroot and mint coming through on the long, silky finish.
