Settlement Heritage Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2023
93 Points - Cameron Douglas, MS. A delicate and fragrant Sauvignon Blanc from a producer who carefully select fruit from Marlborough's top organic single vineyards to produce wines of great elegance and complexity. Aromas of lime skin, green apple, cut grass, gunflint, lemongrass and garden herbs. Taut, fresh, lively palate with herbal, spicy capsicum flavours with good intensity and a rapier-like thrust of saline acidity at the finish.

93 Points - Cameron Douglas, MS (2023)
"An immediately expressive, pungent and varietal bouquet. Packed with aromas and flavours of pineapple and grapefruit, fresh red apple and basil. Dry, saline and crisp textures preface fruit and mineral flavours on the palate, new pungent high energy, a wine to savour or wait, with best drinking from mid 2025 through 2029+."
Taste
Aromas of ripe freshly cut citrus fruits, reminiscent of pristine lemons and oranges, intertwined with lifted aromas of spring blossoms. Not a simple example of this sought-after style, the palate shows excellent concentration, poise, and length.
About the Producer
Owner, Steve Planthaber, grew up in the Barossa Valley, surrounded by vineyards and the wine industry from a young age. On leaving school he found his way to the deep south of New Zealand to study chemistry and work for some of New Zealand’s largest companies in a variety of roles. A move to Marlborough with his partner Kirsty Sutherland cemented his love of wine, and after 12 enjoyable years working for Cloudy Bay Vineyards in production and operations, he decided to use his diverse skills and experience to relish the opportunity to form his own wine brand, Settlement.
At Settlement, they carefully select fruit from Marlborough's top organic single vineyards to craft four wines - Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Noir. These wines, sourced from renowned sites in the Wairau and Southern Valley, benefit from the region's organic farming practices. With minimal intervention in the winery, the purity of the fruit is preserved, resulting in elegant, complex wines.
