Hand harvested, hand sorted, and handmade, this is a classic Chassagne Montrachet that offers ample fruit, an elegant structure, and fine acidity.  Prices for Domaine Vincent Prunier’s wines have been rising of late, so now’s the time to buy.

Taste

Mid-gold, the bouquet offers an array of enticing aromas including fresh apples, buttery vanilla and citrus. The palate is populated with generous flavours of peach, pear, and apple. Vincent’s use of 1,2, and 3-year-old barrels keeps the oak flavours in check and these are manifested as subtle tropical fruit and honey tones. Toward the finish a blend of citrus and minerals come through, cleansing the palate and adding yet another layer of complexity. Delicious now with white meats, fish, shellfish or creamy risotto, it will age gracefully over the next five years.

About the Producer

Vincent Punier founded his domaine in 1988 when he inherited 2 hectares of vineyards from his parents. It now comprises of 13 hectares of vines in prestigious sites in Auxey-Duresses, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. Despite his domain’s growth it remains very much his own and his control over his wine extends to him living above his winery in Auxey Duresses in sight of his Pinot Noir vines. His love for his wines is easy to see and thanks to his close attention to detail, he has attracted a loyal following.
