Domaine Fernand & Laurent Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet 2023
90 Points - Jasper Morris. Laurent Pillot continues to impress with his quietly confident style, and this 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet is no exception. Sourced from multiple parcels within the village, this cuvée captures the generous, fruit-forward character of the vintage while staying true to the domaine’s hallmark clarity and poise. Fermented and matured in oak barrels with a light touch, it’s a classic expression of white Burgundy from one of Chassagne’s most consistent and underrated producers.
Wine Press Ratings
90 Points - Jasper Morris (2023 Vintage)
"Pale lemon in colour. The bouquet has more complexity than the generics and a touch of gunflint, far from excessive. The fruit broadens out to a fleshy mid‑palate, a pure white apple fruit, nicely balanced with adequate acidity."
Taste
Pale lemon in colour with a gentle nose of white peach, citrus zest and subtle gunflint. The palate opens with clean, rounded orchard fruit—apple and pear—before broadening into a creamy, lightly buttery mid-palate. There’s a lovely line of acidity that gives the wine lift and focus, finishing with a touch of spice and wet stone. Approachable now, but will gain depth over the next 3–5 years.
