Villa Degli Olmi Celsole Primitivo 2024

Discover this beautiful Primitivo wine from Villa Degli Olmi - an award winning Vineyard - home to some excellent value wines from Puglia, Southern Italy. Primitivo has been a varietal used on both banks of the Aegean sea from Croatia through to Italy. Primitivo are grown here because they arrive at maturity earlier than other varietals, meaning the sugar and polyphenols are ready before the harsh, desert like sun arrives in mid summer. An incredible value, full-bodied Primitivo with an intense red, violet colour and a complex aroma of ripe fruit and spices. An ideal partner to meat dishes, game and aged cheeses.

About the Producer

The winery has existed since 1895 and has become an important player in the production of good quality elegant wines. A student of some of the top Italian wine professors, Manzoni (a specialist in cross breeding vines and a student of professor Muller (of Muller Thurgau fame) and Micconi, Bruno Cielo began bottling the property’s wines in 1959. Until then all of the production was sold in bulk. They own their wineries and have a state of the art production platform to be able to make wines which offer superb value for money. Cielo believes that this is THE perfect pizza wine – great sugar levels bring the alcohol very slightly up but the acidity makes the wine fresh and pure.
