Trimbach Riesling Cuvee Frederic Emile 2019

97 Points - James Suckling. One of Alsace’s great Rieslings and a wine that never chases fashion. Trimbach’s Cuvée Frédéric Émile 2019 is dry, serious and built on limestone, delivering depth and character rather than easy charm. It’s a classic fine wine with the structure to age and the confidence to take its time.

Taste

Fresh lime, lemon peel and ripe orchard fruit on the nose, with a gentle smoky, stony note underneath. The palate is dry and focused, combining citrus intensity with a subtle creaminess from time on lees. There’s real drive and length here, finishing savoury and mouth-watering, with that trademark Trimbach firmness holding everything neatly in place.

Wine Press Ratings

97 Points - James Suckling (2019 Vintage)

"This great dry Alsace riesling has hugely generous, irresistible aromas of fresh and candied citrus fruit, together with white and yellow peaches. Very chalky and concentrated on the medium- to full-bodied palate. The very long, deeply structured finish makes it plain that this masterpiece is just beginning to give its best! From organically grown grapes. "

97 Points - Ian D'Agata Wine Review (2019 Vintage)

About the Producer

Founded in 1626, Maison Trimbach is one of the world’s great wine producers. From their base in Alsace, they craft some of the finest white wines on earth from varieties such as Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, and Riesling, a grape they are undisputed masters of. Today the house is under the leadership of the 12th and 13th generations of the family with Hubert Trimbach, his daughter Anne and his nephews Jean and Pierre at the helm. Together they manage a range of important vineyard holdings including several Grand Cru sites.  Trimbach’s Rieslings are characterised by a combination of elegance and refinement, precision and power. Every care is taken to produce wines that are worthy of the family name and while they drink well young, they are capable of long ageing.
