Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro (SGM) is an Australian wine classic, and the Lou Miranda Estate Fierce III SGM is one of the very best. 2022 was an great year for the Barossa Valley and the family made the most of the conditions to produce a truly beautiful Australian red wine. The Shiraz gives it its wonderfully deep colour and black berry fruit, the Grenache adds plump, overripe cherries and the Mataro provides the backbone. It was aged for 15 months in seasoned American and French oak, a luxurious addition that’s added depth and body but which hasn’t overwhelmed the beautiful array of fruit flavours.

The Lou Miranda Estate SGM marries distinctive flavours from all the varietals in the blend to give something that’s far greater than the sum of its parts. The Shiraz gives an upfront flavour of ripe plum, brown spice and mid-palate weight. The Grenache gives more fragrant characters of raspberry, cherry, rose and pink peppercorns, while the Mataro adds more savoury, earthy notes.
