Bollinger La Grande Annee 2015

96 Points - Gault & Millau. Bollinger’s La Grande Année is only made in the very best vintages, and the 2015 release is a top grand marque cuvée not to be missed. A blend of 11 crus — 79% Grand Cru and 21% Premier Cru — it is composed of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Rich, precise, and ageworthy, this is a Champagne that shows Bollinger at its most refined — a must-try for anyone who loves the very best.

Taste

La Grande Année 2015 opens with aromas of ripe orchard fruit, citrus zest, toasted hazelnut, and brioche. The palate is powerful yet precise, with layers of baked apple, stone fruit, and spice framed by a fine mineral backbone. Pinot Noir provides structure and depth, while Chardonnay brings lift and elegance. Persistent, refined bubbles lead to a long, saline finish. A wine of grandeur and poise, delicious now but destined to evolve beautifully over the next two decades.

Wine Press Ratings

96 Points - Gault & Millau (2015 Vintage)

"Among the expressions of this superb Champagne vintage, "La Grande Année" displays a rare elegance. Aromas of leather, roasted pineapple, stewed apple, yellow peach pulp and sweet spices (cinnamon, vanilla, turmeric, cardamom) charm from the very first whiff. This aromatic delight continues on the palate, with a creamy, energetic texture that combines balance and power. Notes of ripe yellow and white fruit are present, but without excess. The bubbles contribute to the dynamism of the wine, which grows in strength as the tasting progresses, before a deep, chalky, saline finish, very salivating, long and persistent."

About the Producer

Few Champagne houses embody luxury and tradition like Bollinger. Founded in 1829 and still family-owned, the house is celebrated for its Pinot Noir dominance, meticulous craft, and wines built for longevity. From fermentation in oak barrels to ageing under natural cork, every detail reflects a pursuit of depth and refinement. La Grande Année is the pinnacle of this philosophy — produced only in the finest vintages and standing proudly among the world’s great cuvées.
